Christen Takacs, MA, LPC

Clinical Therapist & Licensed Professional Counselor

Christen enjoys working with adult individual clients facing a variety of challenges and life stressors. Areas of focus include trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, dissociation/dissociative disorders, self-esteem, communication, attachment, emotion regulation, and more.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Kent State University and her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Akron. Christen considers herself a lifelong learner, always looking for new tools and approaches to better serve her clients. One of her favorite ways to help clients is through psychoeducation – helping you better understand how your brain and body work, so you can better understand your mental health.

Christen’s values of authenticity, creativity, humor, empathy, and understanding allow her to meet each client exactly where they are. Her counseling style is eclectic, pulling from a range of approaches including Person-Centered therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR - level II trained), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parts Work / Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), Mindfulness-Based therapies, Strength-Based therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Christen works under the clinical supervision of Amy Bock, LPCC-S (License #E1200545-SUPV)
